A crypto-backed loan turns a digital asset into collateral for borrowing. Borrowers should also ask how collateral can be topped up, whether partial repayment immediately lowers LTV, and how quickly withdrawals are processed after repayment. For on-chain loans, transaction fees and network congestion may delay an urgent collateral deposit.

A crypto-backed loan needs active monitoring. Price alerts and LTV notifications can provide warning, but they are not substitutes for a reserve plan. Keeping additional collateral or repayment funds readily available can help, provided the network and platform remain operational.

It is wise to test transfers with a small amount before moving significant collateral. Confirm the chain, asset contract, destination address, and memo or tag requirements. Account security should include strong authentication, protected recovery information, and careful review of every signature request.
